Immigrant Support Alliance (ISA) is a network of volunteers that welcome and assists newly arrived individuals and families as they gain footholds in our communities. Specifically, we help navigate healthcare, transportation, education, cultural norms, life skills, daily needs, employment opportunities, and ESOL classes.
Email info@immigrantsupportalliance.org to receive emails about upcoming opportunities.
Volunteer as a household – contact us to learn about hosting a guest in your home. Our Housing Support page tells you more.
ISA offers many ways to get involved based on interests and availability. Our volunteer member based network provides several ways to support our mission: Each volunteer participates either as an independent community member or as a representative of an area faith group.
If you have an idea about how you can help and don’t see it here, please contact us. We would be happy to hear from you.
Some volunteers contribute on an as-needed basis. Their contributions can include diverse activities such as driving a new community member to a medical appointment or sharing an afternoon coffee or explaining American currency, to name but a few examples.
A second group of volunteers attends monthly administrative meetings in order to exchange information and participate in decision-making about needs, activities, and finances.
And the third volunteer group consists of a Steering Committee, which communicates on an ongoing basis, addressing matters appropriate for handling outside monthly meetings.
